And although some etailers list both "SCSI to USB" and "USB to SCSI"
adapters, don't get excited- you cannot find a device to go from the laptop
SCSI port to provide a USB port (unlike SCSI to ethernet solutions).  For
tech reasons I am not aware of, there is just no way to do it (per Belkin,
anyway, who would know if anyone would).

There's just no USB solution for 1400 or 5300 families.

However, for my new Olympus digital camera (for example) there is a mac
serial connection kit, $20.  So for some peripherals there is a way around
the need for a USB port.
