A clamshell iBook is NOT my first recommendation for anyone looking to do
presentations.. If you're cash-strapped, consider a Wallstreet, and use a
Road Rocket card. THat'll be money far better spent. THe clamshell iBooks are
seriously flawed in terms of output ports. Not that they're bad machines,
they're just designed for personal computing devices (internet/email/eetc),
NOT as presentatioon machines.

The 366mhz versions inclluded a video out capability, but it only allows
composite output, something on the quality llevel of VHS video tape. Not
something you'd want to be showing a powerpoint presentation with. You need
to have 1024x768 to show Powerpoint stuff (it's going to look cheezey
otherwise)..

A Wallstreet will do fine at this, though the video output will only allow
mirroring. Of course that's not badd if you're ONLY doing Powerpoint
presentations (becuase MS PPoint only allows mirroring when you're doing the
show, so it's a bit of a waste to try to use separate monitor drivers for
PPoint).

If you've got the cash, a Lombard woulld be the better choice, as it allows
either mirroring of the VGA OR simultaneous multiple output (split images
across your LCD and the VGA port). THe Lombard is NOT a bad machine,
really,, and you can generally find them for less than a 466mhz IBook... I'd
recommend the one at 400mhz--it's probably going to have longer term value
than the 333, and will hae buillt-in DVD capability..

My $.02....

Thanks,
David
