Hello. I'm new to the list.
I've got a 5300cs that boots up etc. . . . But the screen is dark. I've adjusted the brighten & contrast buttons (on the front of the screen) to no avail. I can shine a bright desk top lamp (light bulb) onto the screen, and I can see that the screen is functioning, just not back lit. I've changed out the PRAM battery (Just in case it was at fault) no change. My guess is that the backlight (duh) needs replacing. Anyone got one of these for a reasonalbe price? Instructions?
