This message written: Friday, 7 June 2002 13:13:44 PDT Obtained a 1400cs133 the other day. It has a couple of cosmetic flaws, but seems to be otherwise a good machine.
It is missing one of the rubber "corner feet" (the right one), and has a couple of "stress cracks" in the top near the hinges. It has a floppy drive in the expansion bay that is inoperable. It looks to me like the connector on the drive that should engage the connector in the chassis is missing. I just see the edge of the circuit board with a small row of solder pads. Can someone describe the "proper" appearance of the connector on the floppy module? It also had a Dayna Communicard Plus in one of the PCMCIA slots. Unfortunately it is missing the "dongle" and I have had no success in getting a replacement. Any hidden sources out there? It has 32 meg of RAM and is running OS 8. Any advice on upgrading to 8.1 (I have the downloaded updater) or moving to 9.1 (I have a retain disk)? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
