I have a 5300cs, 64MB ram, 6+GB Hdd. The machine runs like a charm until I
try to go on the internet. I have tried 3 different modems on it with the
same sloooooow results.
A Global Village 56k/ethernet combo PCMCIA card modem. Remote access reports
unable to determine speed. Definitely slow.
A Global Village 33.6 PCMCIA card modem report either 28,800 or 31,600 Still
the same slow.
A U. S. Robotics 56K external remote access reports 48000 connection speed.
Still the same slow. I have had this modem hooked to my desktop machine and
it is very fast.
Is there an extension or something that holds the speed down on all these
modems. Or is the 5300cs just that slow on the internet?
Any help here would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jim
