To recap: On Tue, Jun 11, 2002, 9:49am (EDT-3),
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (Harbourmaster) had this to say about my
sleepy but drive-active 520c:

===
This sounds to me like a Power Manager problem.
Try restarting the book and hold down the command-option-P-R keys to
reset the PRAM.
Hold the keys down and make them chime at least_10_ times before you let
the book restart.
If that doesn't clear the problem then I would suggest that you remove
all power from the machine and disconnect the Pram battery for an hour
or so to fully discharge the PRAM.

Aloha, Ken

---
I tried 20 consecutive PRAM zaps but when I allowed it to boot , it
immediately went to sleep. I disassembled it and disconnected the PRAM
battery, then left it that way overnight. This morning, I reassembled
it, started it, reset the control panels, then did some word processing
and battery testing for 3 hrs. with no problems. It slept only when
prompted to do so from the menu.

The hard drive still won't spin down but if that can't be fixed I can
live with it. The only time I use battery power on this machine is to
cycle batteries. Having the drive running constantly only speeds up the
process.

Thanks to Donna & Ken for your help,
