Windows 95 *likes* all the ram you can give it, but all it *needs* is 2Megs. Yes, really.
Maybe it needs more if it's being emulated, but Windows 95 on an x86 machine only NEEDS 2mb. Hope. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeff Hubatka" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PowerBooks" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, June 13, 2002 5:37 PM Subject: Re: VirtualPC on 3400? > I have used RealPC with Win95 on my 1400 - it's slow, even with the 466mhz upgrade, and I never successfully printed anything. Are you saying you only have 8MB RAM? W95 likes to have at least 16, and I have it set to use about 24 on my PowerBook. However, if you already have a W95 CD, the DOS version of RealPC is only about $30 to download from FWB, plus they usually have a 10% discount for first-time buyers. If you only have one program to run that might work for you. > > -- > JSH > > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Wed, 12 Jun 2002 23:36:17 EDT > Subject: VirtualPC on 3400? > > Hi ... > I need to get an old (5+ years old, says it requires just 8mb ram, prefers > 16) Windows 95 app to run on a 3400/180.
