Well I've got to say that Apple really came through for me on my sending my 5300cs in under the REA. Not only did they replace the logic board this time, but it appears they put a new screen in and a new power adapter. I suppose the connector shorting out may have created a bit of havoc on components. But they surely went beyond their call. Not only that, but I am thrown for a loop in respect to just how quickly I got it back. I think it was equal to an overnight delivery each way and a few hours at Apple.
So now I have a portable that I can use, and for that matter, put to good use. Starts right up. Apple, you're still the best! :) I do have a question for the group. I am going to install a 4 gig drive I have but I would like to remove the old password on this drive before I remove it. I went through the Set Up Assistant and changed the password there, but this did not seem to affect the system start up protection. Apparently I also need to keep password protection off since I intend to use an external scsi device. Can someone tell me which app is used to edit and/or turn off password protection? I realize its likely a simple item, its just one I haven't dealt with nor use on any other macs. Thanks Again, Dave -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
