Hey!

Yes you can do it, though if all you have is a bare motherboard, you'll
have some 'issues'.

The 2300 motherboard was designed to be able to upgrade all previous models
of duo (who would turn up the opportunity to get a 640x400 passive matrix
b/w screen PowerPC machine?), so has internal connectors for all types of
duo screens and both SCSI and IDE hard drives.

The 'official' upgrade kit was the entire base of a 2300 and you'd move
your hd and screen over.

So if there are issues it will be with the heatsink/metal frame combo
(different sized main processor chip) and with the trackball/trackpad
connectors, and I don't know what the deal is there.

What actual 2300 parts do you have? I'd say just start putting things
together and see what happens.

I think I have a PDF of the take-apart manual which I can email you if you
like.
