I have decided that it's time to retire the fastest machine in my house and buy something new. My fastest machine is currently PC based. It is a Celeron 466 w/128MB RAM. It has a HP Deskjet 930C attached to it via a USB connection.
Here's my dilemma.... First off, I'm really considering replacing it with a new iMac. Will the USB based 930C work with the iMac? I know the USB will work, but are there Mac Drivers available? Assuming it will work, and I hook the 930C to the iMac, sharing the printer with my Powerbook 3400 should be an easy chore. But.... If it won't work on the iMac, I am then thinking I will keep the printer attached to the Celeron (which will stay on my network - I have an 8 port hub cascaded from a 4 port switch ;-) ) but how hard would it be to share that "Windoze" based printer with my Macs? Is it possible at all? Or would it require some sort of external IP based printing device like a jetdirect card? Cheers, Sionnach __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
