I've asked this before with no answer, so I'll re-phrase the question:

Should the PB 280 power up and show the display with a dead pram battery?

The pram battery needs replacing (or re-charging if it happens to be a
lithium re-chargable) but I don't wish to spend the $50 or so to replace it
if won't solve the problem.

The unit works perfectly when docked and connected to a monitor. The 13 v.
battery is charged and I have an AC adaptor, but cannot power it up when
using either of these.

Can someone give me an answer?

Dick
