Well... that was good advice, but not exactly the way
I'd do it. First off, you should hold in the reset
button for at least a full minute to reset the Power
Manager. I usually end up holding mine in for more
like 2 minutes, just for good measure.

Next difference, DON'T PUT THE BATTERY BACK IN THE
MACHINE. Just connect it to AC Power. With the PRAM
battery, a lot of times, you;ll find that the system
won't boot at all if the battery is installed.

So, to recap... Remove battery, unplug Powerbook,
hold in reset button for 1-2 minutes, plug Powerbook
back into AC Adapter WITHOUT replacing the battery.
Sometimes, it will chime right away without you haivng
to hit the power button, other times, you may need to
hit the power button once.

If that still doesn't work for you, and you have a
multi-meter, check the output voltage on your AC
Adapter and make sure that didn't go dead. A dead AC
adapter coupled with a dead battery wouldn't make for
an easy start ;-)

If you've done the above to get around a dead PRAM and
checked and verified the voltage to be good on the AC
Adapter, then I'd say your problem would likely be
internal to the PB... But based on the correspondence
I've seen so far, I wouldn't rule out the PRAM just
yet...

Cheers,
Sionnach
