All you experts who have BTDT:

Has anyone encountered conflicts with SpeedDoubler 8 under OS8.x? I bought
it on eBay in hopes of pepping up my PB 5300c (running OS 8.5.1) -- the
consensus seemed to be that it would be just the ticket. It installed
normally, but (a) clicking in any part of the "Desktop Pictures" folder
turned the Finder icons and menu bar a nearly opaque green, and (b) no
applications whatever would run while it was active. I suspected an
extension conflict (the GV combined modem/ethernet card seemed a likely
suspect), but the problems persisted even when SpeedDoubler was the only
active extension, though fortunately they corrected themselves as soon as it
was turned off.

So I tried to install SD on my desktop 7600 (under OS 8.6), but that machine
was too smart to swallow it at all, giving instead a "Bad Disk" error
message. Disk First Aid says the disk itself (the original Connectix locked
floppy) is fine, and the eBay seller assures me she's used it with complete
success.

Any suggestions? SpeedDoubler is certainly something I can live without
indefinitely, but does offer some desirable features and it would be nice to
be able to use it if possible.

TIA,
Victoria
