Since you have been very slow to respond to your e-mails, have stated to me
that you have been having health problems, and seemed preoccupied with other
matters, I didn't want to bother you, David.

Besides, the post you commented on (attached below) was, in fact, my response
to questions from another Lister, on his prospective purchase of a 5300ce
from a seller which wasn't specifically named.

>>
... not stabbed me in the back about it.
>>

I did not mention you or your company by name, so I did not "stab you in the
back".

In fact, I specifically stated that I had had previous good results from you
and your company (without specifically naming you or your company), and that
based on this previous good experience, I was surprised that I had had any
problems with my order.

The only time you or your company's name was mentioned was in your own post
(attached below).

So, David, is was really you who revealed your identity to the List, not me.

>>
That sort of ball-less action is not likely to get you any help ...
>>

That's a gross overreaction, David, just as is your assertion that I "stabbed
you in the back".

>>
... though I am more than happy to help with any problematic machines.
>>

Fine.

Send me a replacement floppy drive module and a replacement battery charger.

I spent a day-and-a-half troubleshooting and debugging the machine you sent
me.

I have, through careful, systematic and exhaustive work on MY part, isolated
the problem to a defective battery charger and a defective floppy disk module.

>>
If you would like to get help ...
>>

I do ... see above.

>>
... please call me ...
>>

At this point, David, given your overreaction, your general attitude, and
your public slandering of ME (see below), I don't think a call to you would
be appropriate or would prove to be productive.

I really don't want to deal face-to-face with a person who appears to have
lost his perspective in this whole matter, David.

>>
However, if you would like to slander me ...
>>

I did not slander you, David, as I did not mention you or your company by
name.

However, David, YOU HAVE SLANDERED ME, by your subsequent post (attached
below) which specifically identifies me by my e-mail address.

(It doesn't take rocket science to determine that "xxx.xxx" is really
"aol.com", and that "PeterH5322" is unique to me on the 'Net).

>>
... please do it in another manner. I do not enjoy being slandered by
someone who's not willing to give me a chance to help ...
>>

Again, David, it is not slander as my post did not identify you or your
company. Indeed, it was YOU who identified yourself and your company.

>>
... and it will most certainly taint any interaction we might have.
>>

David, you have no grounds to be angry. You have not been slandered.

On the contrary, you have publicly embarrassed me, calling me "ball-less" and
accusing me of committing a "slander" which never occurred.

Peter.

Attachment: Copy of David Wegener 's second post ...

To any and all who wonder about about this note:

The advertisement in question is my company: Wegener Media. We ran a few
specials on 3400's & 5300's recently.

The truly unfortunate thing is that despite our best attempts, not every
machine arrives perfect. That's a shame, but we are committed to resolve
problems. We regret any persons who may not have been happy about their
purchases from us, and we are doing all we can to resolve any issues.

But, what's worse is that guys like the individual who has posted all this
about us ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) never bothered to contact a single person at
our establishment, according to all my information. I have personally
questioned our employees, and checked all phone records, and have zero
information about this.

Folks, if you wish to resolve any problem, you need to contact our office. As
with any business, we cannot help those who do not bother to contact us. If
you don't have the guts to call us about a problem, please don't expect help,
and PLEASE don't whine about issues to someone else. We are Powerbook
specialists, not mystics, so we have to hear from you in order to know that
you've got a problem. We are glad to help folks in any way possible, but we
cannot help if we don't hear from you.. And, of course, slander in the back
against someone is not a recommended path to gain the ear of any dealer, no
matter HOW dedicated we may be to Powerbooks. May I suggest that you contact
me directly?

Thanks,
David
