Another observation on this effect:  I have a 280 screen that does 
this.  I ran it for a while until it got dark corners.  I then turned 
it off (no battery or AC), and even after 1/2 hour or so, the corners 
are still dark.  I dont really know enough to make something of this, 
but I have the feeling it means something.
