I thought that's why he was posting?

... Anyway J White,

I bought my PowerBook 180 because I thought it was the best compromise
for an older model (this was an eBay purchase four years ago). I paid
$200 for mine back then with the optional 19.2k modem and RAM maxed out
(for this model): 14MB. As c d says, they've all depreciated even more.

The PB 150 uses the easier to find (and of course potentially
larger/newer/faster?) IDE hard disks, but for specialized tasks even
the tiny 40MB, 80MB or 120MB hard disks that come in the rest of the
1xx B/W series are fine, particularly if you don't wander beyond System
7.1.

Back to why I picked the 180. Fastest of the B/W PowerBooks (faster than
the SE/30). Bigger screen than some of the other models, and active
matrix. Has every built-in legacy port (of course) but not Ethernet,
and a video port that'll run up to 832X624 resolution (256 colors) on
an external monitor (up to 17").

If spending more on accessories than the computer is worth seems too
weird, step up to a color model. Even the '40's (520, 540) and early
PPCs are cheap. But I think any accessories for any PB are expensive, so
just get what you need and don't be shy about spending the $$ ot outfit
it properly. I just saw a new battery for the 1xx series go for a dollar
last night on eBay. Still not sure why I let that go.
