Hi, Jim. RAM is actually easier to install then a PRAM battery, in my opinion, as you don't have to remove the speaker assembly (which isn't saying much since it's only one more screw ;-) ) If you are only running 16MB of RAM with 8.6, you NEED to upgrade your RAM. Forget about web browser speed... jsut do it ;-) I bought a 64MB chip for $20 on ebay (new old stock) that brought me up to 80MB and I am running 8.6 currently. To burst your bubble though, my 3400 opens web pages EXTREMELY slow, to the point where it's almost painful. I started using Netscape 4.something and upgraded that to IE 5.1.5... IE was a tad faster, but my pages load at 56K dialup (or worse speeds) and I'm connected to a cable modem. My P150/32MB RAM Pc Based Laptop runs webpage circles around my 3400... I don't understand why they run so slow and would love to find a solution. I have talked to some people who say it's slow, adn some people that say theirs is fast... I do have a copy of OS 9 at home and will likely try to upgrade the OS and see if that makes a difference when I get a chance. (Actually, I shouldn't say upgrade - I have little on my 10gb drive, so I will likely just wipe it clean and do a fresh OS 9 install...
