I recently got a Duo 280c, with which I am very pleased, except for one
quirk. ($15.00 at Goodwill).

It will not run with the battery that came with it inserted.

I can start it up and run it all day long with the battery out of the
machine and the AC adapter plugged in, but the moment I insert the battery,
it dies.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm fine with using it plugged in, but it's
strange that inserting the battery kills it every time.
