I looked at Radio Shack when I fixed my plug.  I asked the guy if he had a replacement 
and showed it to him.  He didn't look at it but asked me what computer it was for.  I 
told him, and he immediately said "oh we don't have anything for that" without even 
looking at the plug (typical anti-Apple bias I run into alot - the assumption that 
because it's made by Apple, it has NO parts in common with any other kind of anything 
made in the world).  As it turns out, a 1/8' stereo headphone plug is the same, which 
of course they had gobs of for $1.25 each.  I ended up reusing the original plug 
though since all that was wrong was the wires had become disconnected.
