Hi everyone
or
Hi nobody

depending on how alive or dead the list is

Anyway, I am new to the list and to the Mac world
I just bought a 3400c(180mhz) at what I think was a reasonable price.

>>>No I am not affiliated in any way shape or form with surpluscomputers or
apple/mac<<<

I got it from
www.surpluscomputers.com

You really should check it out.
You get $30 back in cash if you buy one.
The deal is to purchase atleast $120 worth of merchandise (in this case the
3400c at $199.00)
Then, buy norton system works and norton firewall for $20

Next, after you recieve the 3400c and the norton CD's you get a
mail-in-rebate of $50.00

$50 - $20 so you get $30 in total cash rebates plus two free norton CD's

You also get a free CD filled with 650MB's of software for the powerbook
The powerbook is also preloaded with some version of the Apple OS (I assume
7.XX)
They also claim that the ram has been extended to 32MB's instead of 16MB's
And the CD-Rom is 8X instead of 6X
This is also the version that has a 100-base t network card installed (not
sure if that is with a modem or without..but i already own a viking 56k PC
card)

You even get a 90 day warranty and these are completely factory refurbished
systems.

In total I paid $237.00
After the mail in rebates (according to thier reasoning since you get 2
copies and 2 reciepts of the norton software you qualify for the rebates)

My total cost will only be $187.00 for everything. That even includes
shipping.

I hope I got a Good deal...
And I hope all this stuff is true/legit

I just didn't think to ask if it came with a battery and a wall adapter
before I purchased it.

(Keeping fingers crossed)

Sorry for the long email.

nice to meet everyone.

lata
