Dear Listessas/Listas,

Among other things I just ordered aforementioned item from "the
powerbookguy" to replace the ailing existing one. While having done quite a
bit of work on the 5300 and a Kanga (changing HDs, changing trackpad
buttons, PRAM batteries, Videocard ...) this will be a first for me. Does it
require soldering or is it a huge pain in the neck otherwise? What do I need
to be cautious/aware of? Is there a possibility to completely change the
type of plug on the powersupply and the old board (it is broke anyways, so I
would be willing to risk it)? Could it even work with the Kanga / 1400 /
iBook / Pismo poweradapter? Has nayone tried this / could point me to
someone who did? I don't use the 5300 much currently, but I really love its
size and weight compared to the K_a_n_g_a and it would be perfect for
travelling and downloading digital images to, etc. ...

TIA,

tobias.
