Well, I've heard that the Bondi iMac can be hacked to have a VGA port
- the internal video circuitry is supposed to be pretty close to
straight VGA. Cruise over to <http://www.applefritter.com/> for
that, though - you'll probably find the info you are looking for in
the Hacks forum.

Still, I don't think the Bondi iMac is anywhere near the end of it's
useful life. There are still many LC520s that are working great.
One that is well maintained ought to work for a very long time. A
friend of mine has an original Rev B. (Rage ProLT graphics) that is
still going strong. There were some iMacs that had CRT problems, but
if you find a working one now, chances are that it's CRT is in fine
shape. (All the bad ones should have died off a long time ago.)

Shipping might be expensive, but you might be able to find one that
is local. A properly packaged iMac ought to arrive without mishap.
People ship CRTs all the time...

Peace,
Drew
