Any PowerBook that has PC Card slots (CardBus not required) can work with most any modern digital camera. AFAIK with the exception of Sony only some of the really old digital cameras don't use standard removable flash memory cards (Compact Flash, SmartMedia, MultiMedia, Secure Digital, Memory Stick). Sony continued to make some cameras that used floppy until not long ago. They also make some that use mini CD-R. You can get a PC Card adapter for any of the above mentioned flash memory devices so you can read the pictures off the camera that way. PowerBook 3400s are CardBus compliant, more or less. It might require a $100 conversion though. A CardBus capable PowerBook can use a USB card which can then connect to more modern cameras directly. But aside from a possible conversion the USB card alone is more expensive than the Flash adapter. Short answer is you can use most any digital camera that uses expansion memory. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting [EMAIL PROTECTED] "I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway" -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
