Greetings to all electronics experts --

Last week I bought what purported to be a 48MB RAM card on eBay, with the
idea of maxing out my 5300 at 64MB; it arrived yesterday, was installed, but
only 48MB (total) showed up in the system profiler. So . . . maybe I hadn't
seated it firmly enough?

So this morning I took it all apart again (this is getting tedious, and
worse, someday the heads of those 3 little screws are going to get so worn
down they won't engage any more), and took a long look at the card. Unlike
the 16MB card which has been there all along it doesn't declare its
identity, but it does contain 16 little chips compared to 8 on the smaller
card, which arouses the suspicion that it only has 32MB. There are a raft
of numbers -- r & u & c this and that -- but I don't know what any of them
means.

Could somebody please tell me what to look for on this card to determine for
sure what it contains? I don't want to complain to the seller (who doesn't
seem to be a dealer, and could very well have made an honest mistake)
without being certain of my ground.

TIA (again!)
Victoria
