The question of my mysterious chameleon 32/48 RAM card has been resolved:
it's a 32MB, as seemed obvious for various reasons (Malcolm Cornelius, AKA
The Powerbook Fanatic, sent me what amounts to a Rosetta Stone for reading
the arcane numerology printed on the chips). Fortunately when the mistake
was pointed out to the seller she was most apologetic, offered either a full
refund or a partial refund plus the card, and I decided on the latter. So
the 16MB that was in there before is yours if you want it. Just send a
