Greetings:

I don't know exactly how to look for this, but is there some
kind of Mac OS Performance Scale listing out there to see how
fast/efficient 8.1 might be over 7.6.1.? It must be an awfully small
performance difference by my experience. The prime reason I have 8.1
running on my 190cs is because it's the closet to the nifty features
of OS 9 I can have? John's idea of pruning extensions is a great idea
and I wonder what's the rock-bottom minimum extensions required by
8.1?

        Jim
