OK have I got this right? Download the bootable Network Access floppy.
Connect the computers with the serial printer cable. Boot up with floppy,
reformat and partition the drive, then install a minimal OS 8.5 (don't have
8.0) via serial cable (while watching the grass grow, but that's OK), add
the GV extensions, install the full OS over ethernet.

The other computer (just one) is a 7600/120 -- unlike the 5300 it hums along
causing no problems so I haven't had to find out what it's made of. But I'm
sure you know, though since I hope to heaven it won't be necessary to do
this "all the time" it probably wouldn't be worth while getting the cable.

I did a clean install last week following what seemed to be the network
instructions: mounting the installation CD *from the PB side* then
selecting the version "for this computer" and it seemed to work. But was
this the wrong way to go about it?

Thanks much,
