Well, he's got a 1400, so it's now coming down to extensions and OS. The
'gold' working system is OS 9.1, and relevant installed extensions are
the 3C589 driver, Apple Enet 2.4.2, EtherTalk Phase 2 2.5.7, Open Transport
2.7.4, and *no* *other* *Ethernet* drivers enabled (that means turn off
Apple Built-in Ethernet, Asante Friendlynet, etc.).
