On my powerbook 520, i used Eudora Light 3 and was really happy with it.
It's very small (a few MB), free, fast, easy to use and powerfull enough to
manage your personnal mails (it has filters, folders...).

Now the drawbacks : it does not handle multiple mail accounts (ie you can
use only one email address), it seems unable to display html mails an all
attached files are separated from their mail and placed in a special folder
which can cause problem if you want to forward a mail with attachments. But
those problem may have been fixed in later versions of eudora (current
version is 5.?).
