Perhaps, but don't forget OE for the Mac was actually different software/not a port of the Windows version. Since MS has such a huge Macintosh development department, they could actually afford to, ah, purchase the talent that created Emailer. Which is why I said what I said earlier. Claris finally and officially rolled into Apple (dissolving Claris) and some of the developers went elsewhere. Like MS. Emailer became Outlook Express 4, and helps show how fast OE4 rolled out in late 1997 if I have my timeline correct. OE5 is the tweaking of 4. Note that some keyboard shortcuts and menus are somewhat similar as well with Emailer.
