Hmm, it sounds like you downloaded the drivers for the Proxim (Farallon) SkyLINE card, NOT the WaveLAN Silver. The SkyLINE and WaveLAN are NOT the same card.
I don't know what is going on with Proxim and the Orinoco/WaveLAN brand, but it looks like Proxim owns the brand name now (as of August 2k2). So I can see how it would be easy to get confused. A quick search of Proxim's support section didn't turn up anything promising. (I found the 7.1 and 7.2 version drivers, but these apparently don't support the 5300 and 1400, and doubtless the 190 as well). I have a WaveLAN driver CD-ROM (came with my card when I bought it way back when). It has version 6.x (6.2?) drivers on it, and DOES support the 190 (though not the 5x0 series). If you want, I can email the drivers to you. LET ME KNOW _OFF-LIST_ IF YOU WANT THE DRIVERS. If there is enough demand, and if the license agreement does not forbid it, I will also post these drivers on my website... It seems like users of older books are becoming more and more subject to obsolescence. *Sigh* My 5300ce still has a lot of kick in it...
