Roger, Yes. Palms desktop is a free download and will work for contacts and whatnot even if you don't have a Palm to use with it. Also, should you ever choose to get a Palm, all your data will synch easily. Bill, WHat specs can you give on your 3400? Is it a 180, 200, or 240? How much RAM? How big a hard drive? I guess tried and true OS would be 8.6 That should run fine for you Roger with 80MB of RAM. I just put 9.1 on my 3400/200 with 80MB of RAM and it runs fine... Startup time is slightly longer, but applications seem to launch a little quicker. ------------------------------------------ Thanks for comments, Sionnach. On the Palm issue, from the manual it looks like you can synch between two copies on a powerbook and a desktop machine, but details are scanty and I haven't tried it yet. Anyone confirm it's do-able?
