When you install Palm Software on a PC or Mac, you can create profiles for different devices, so if you had a couple Palms (like I do for me and my wife) we each have our own profile and we just need to select the proper one when we go to synch... It keeps all our data seperate. If you want to install Palm software on two machines (say work and home) and synch your Palm to both... you can do that too. Although, you'll need to be pretty persistent about synching at both locations pretty regularly to make sure you always have what you need on both ends. Cheers, Sionnach Thanks, Sionnach, but I was talking about synching Palm Desktop between powerbooks/PPCs *without* a Palm. I haven't got a Palm or any kind of PIM, but was thinking of using the Palm Desktop software as an addressbook/calendar on my home PPC and on my family's 2 powerbooks (a Duo 2300 and a 3400) and regularly transferring data between the 3 machines to try to keep us all "singing from the same hymn sheet". I guess one could do it by copying whole PalmDesktop data files across or doing an export/import between them, but wandered if there was a more elegant Hotsynch solution. If not, is the Hotsynch entirely redundant without a Palm? And if so, can one trash any Hotsynch modules in the interests of memory efficiency and still use the residual bits of PalmDesktop as a functioning program qua Claris Organiser? Hope this makes sense. Keeping data in common between powerbooks/desktops within an organisation/group must be a recurrent problem: "Give a guy a watch, and he'll always know what the time is. Give him two watches, and he'll never be sure!" Any suggestions welcome. Roger -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
