With 9.1 I think the upper limit is something like a terabyte. So, the 
size of hard drive you install is limited primarily by the amount of 
spare cash you have lying around.

Personally, I probably wouldn't spend over $100 on a 1400 so 30-40 gbytes 
is reasonable. At that size, you can store a LOT and your biggest problem 
might be how to keep your back up storage current.
