All of the PowerBooks I've had so far had the same motherboard as their color or monochrome counterparts. Thats why underneath my Duo 280, for example it says "PowerBook Duo 280/280c" and underneath the '040 powered 520 it says "PowerBook 500 series". Next time you should get a Quadra. That thing has real bang for your buck, and a huge amount of people still use Quadras for real work every day (including myself).
