Drew had great points; I'll throw out a model that I have, that WILL
route appletalk between wired and wireless sides: the NetGear MR314. It
was available for about $80 a little while ago.

Also- no WAP that I know of will route Appletalk from LAN to WAN side
IF you have NAT turned on. The MR314 conforms to this.

However: if you turn NAT OFF on the router (some of the let you do
this, all models may not) then Appletalk CAN go from LAN to WAN.

Why would you care? Well you may not, since this is your first (IIRC)
router in the house. It only matters if you hook routers together.

I had had my cable modem and a Linksys BEFSR41 for a year before I got
the MR314; I have a couple :) computers and servers set up and I wanted
to hook the MR314 up to a port on the Linksys, this using it behind the
linksys router and having lots of open jacks.

Worked great except that macs on the MR314 could not use Appletalk to
talk to my shared printer that was on the Linksys. Turning off NAT on
the MR314 and just using it as a big switch allowed everything to work,
macs on the LAN side of the MR314 could then see Appletalk devices on
the LAN side of the Linksys. The NetGear tech support gave me that
tip. I like companies that support Macs (later models of the Netgear
WAPs may differ, though), best to call and check).
