What type of flash memory are you using?? I have an adapter card I use to
access a Sony Memory stick (Seeing as USB isn't available). But the transfer
rates from the memory stick are sloooow. I checked the packaging on the
flash card, and sure enough, the read/write speeds are quite low (something
like 300KB/sec if I remember)

Obviously, using virtual memory on the HD would be much faster, albeit with
more power use... I hear that compact flash are faster, but still not great.
Have you noticed a drop in speed compared to the HD?
