I can attest to that also... even if the subject computers were desktops... I had a Sonnet 233mhz G3 running on a 7100 w. OS 8.1, then 8.5 then 8.6. To give U an idea of the performance, I nicknamed it "Crashy." It was so useless and unfixable, I decided to trash Crashy. But before I did (thankfully!), I put another HD in the machine running 7.6. No crashes; perfect operation. That led me to test the machine w/ fresh HDs with 8.6 and 7.6. My conclusion was that the Sonnet processor has something against 8x OS's...
