Well, as I wrote, the cs will work across the line. It will work in the 190, 190cs, 5300, 5300cs, 5300c, and possibly 5300ce. The c will work in all of those also. The ce will only work in _some_ 5300c and ce machines. The cs is 640x480 pixel passive matrix color. The c is 640x480 pixel active matrix color. The ce is 800x600 pixel active matrix color. Since the ce has larger real estate, it requires more video memory to handle the extra pixels. That means it requires 1MB of video memory. The c and cs only require 512K of VRAM. The logic board of the 190 only has 512k of VRAM. Also, to display 1000's of colors, the c display requires 1MB of vram. If installed in 512K of VRAM, it will only display 256 colors. So, the c and cs (and greyscale) displays will work on your 190cs, but they will only display 256 colors. Still, FWIW, the c is a FANTASTIC upgrade over the cs display!
