I have a pb3400c, 240mhz, 80m ram, 6 partitions on a 12g HD with OS9.1.

Was running fine until the last time I shut it down, I got a message that my
start up disk did not have a system folder and if I continued the shut down
I might not be able to restart. I tried to open some appls but they would
not open because they couldn't find the extensions and the System folder was
not on the disk.

I figured the directory got messed up and I would be able to boot from a CD
and fix the disk or reload the system.
WRONG. Have tried numerous CDs. They load the extensions, get a desktop with
only the CD icon in top RH corner, then the system freezes with the pointer
changing into a clock.
The TechTool 3 Pro loads with the TT icon in top RH corner and the Apple,
File, Edit, View, Special, & Help across the top. then it freeze like the
other CDs. The disks do not show up on the desktop.

Tried zapping the P-Ram, loading with extensions off and it made no
difference.

Anyone have any idea what happened and how to fix it?

Thanks
Guy
