Hi Tom, Thanks again for all your efforts! As I wrote a several days ago. I had completely replaced the display by a color display - even the interconnect board and all relevant cables. But the weird problems still remained - only in another way. Now it were no darkening borders but colored vertical lines growing in amount more and more. The effect was even faster than before with the b/w display. After about ten minutes there were maybe some 50 lines mainly on the left and on the right side of the LCD. So I assume it has nothing to do with any chips or other parts of the display itself but rather with something on the mainboard I would presumably never be able to find... And now I have to make a confession. ;) I have sold all my Powerbook stuff yesterday evening to a mac enthusiast who has his little private mac museum and who wasn't bothered by all that display trouble. I've made quite a good deal with him. I think it's understandable that I don't want to spend whole my life trying to figure out what my problem is - because I actually really need a notebook that works, because I want to use it in the libraray as a simple typewriter. But with darkening borders or vertical lines over the display it's hard to do so... So unfortunatelly I won't be able to donate that display to you anymore becuase it's already packaged. It would for sure not have been such a big problem to send it to Ludwigsburg by mail (I live in Leipzig - it's about 500 kilometers from Stuttgart). But now it's too late. :( Sorry! I hope You all won't be too pissed by me, because I start a big discussion and then suddenly sell everything. But that's how we Germans are: Not reliable at all. Just kidding! However! Tom, best wishes for your trip to South Germany! And many thanks again for everything. And viele viele Gre von Kai -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
