It is my understanding that the Duo 2300c used the same RAM cards as the previous Duos, AND the Duo 2300's had some RAM cards that (for some reason?) were not for the lesser Duos... namely the 40mb and 48mb RAM cards. But I ain't ne'er seen't them....! >Since those RAM chips are 32-bit wide (I presume), & the 2300c has no L2 >cache, on top of that, that would lead to pretty gruesome performance. I have often been told that the '040 33/66mhz Duo 280c I have was faster than the 2300c, and what clinched it for me (not upgrading) was the reminder that the PPC Duo could not run my bevy of 68k programs. If I were you, I would consider upgrading to a 280c, which should be as easy as swapping the motherboard... I believe the screens are the same.
