Using OS 8.04 w/Sonnet G3 400Mhz card. Recently tried two Orinoco Silver cards, but neither is recognized by the Orinoco software (though the card itself does appear as an icon on the desktop).
I'll take it you meant OS 9.0.4.
In fact, no ethernet or alternate ethernet appears as an option in TCP/IP. This is strange, because I had previously connected the PB to my cable router with an ethernet cable (via the dongle on a 3Com combo modem/ethernet card).
The Connect Via: options only appear if the required hardware is present. So If the 3Com card isn't inserted it won't appear as a choice.
Any suggestions?
Try de-installing the 3Com software and then re-installing the Orinoco software. There appears to be some limitations in PowerBook Ethernet drivers. I found I could not have Global Village and Kingston drivers installed simultaneously.
