Why couldn't you? Don't you just have to find someone that's upping their 1400/166 to a G3? Try the Low End Mac swap list & put out a message there about what you're looking for. Or, as someone suggested, cruise eBay and look for folks buying G3's for their 1400's and ask them what they're upgrading from. I've found that for all but the rarest of items, you can generally find a good deal if you just remember that it doesn't hurt to ask (and if you're patient enough to wait for opportunity to come around).
