Hi all,

I've just gotten around to taking one of the orig. 1.3 GB drives I have
laying about and trying to put it into one of those USB 1.1/2.0 pocket drive
cases. The whole thing is simple as can be, except that the drive doesn't
show up when I attach to USB (say on an iMac). I'm in touch w/ OWC tech
support, but I figured I'd also put the question to this list, since there's
likely to be a few here that have already done this.

Anyway, the drive is getting power from the USB (as evidenced by a bright,
steady LED). I'm at work at the moment, trying to access it from a 9.2.2
running iMac (one of the graphite DV SE models). Not only does the drive
not mount automatically, but Drive Setup doesn't see it (nor does
Silverlining). However, System Profiler notes that something is present on
the USB, although I guess it could just be detecting the circuitry of the
case and not the drive itself.

So, what am I missing? Is there some jumper that is normally empty when the
drive is onboard the 3400 that needs to be set when in the case? There was
no indication of this in the docs, but you never know until you ask.

Thanks.

- Eric.
