Second attempt at posting Sent: Tuesday, July 29, 2003 5:05 PM Subject: Changing HD on PB540 or any 500 series
Having bought some spare bits on ebay I thought I'd change the drive on my PB 540 from its current 250 up to a 500. - but I just cant see how the drive comes out. Seems the cable is welded to the drive? Does it unplug from the drive end or the motherboard end and if so how to get under the motherboard ? - got as far as removing the RAM and upgrading it but there must be a particular way to remove the motherboard that I dont know about - does anyone here?? If I eventually get this sorted I may even get daring enough to do a motherboard upgrade ( yep, got one of those elusive things at last so maybe here comes a real power mac!) So. H-E-L-P !!!! Please Gerald NB When I've finished there may be some spare bits over - free if anyone wants to pay the postage. > -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
