A bizarre event with my PowerBook 170, for which I'm curious to know if this one's a non-problem.
I run lowly MacCheck 1.0 on my my PowerBook upon occasion just to
make sure it'll fly through, and here's what I got today:
-------------------
Starting Tests
Starting Logic Board Test
Running PRAM Test
PRAM Test Passed. Running Clock/Interrupt Test
Clock/Interrupt Test Passed.
Running ROM Test ROM Test Failed!
Logic Board Test failed! ------------------- Hmmm.... Never seen this before. Anyone?
My PowerBook's on System 7.0.1 * (tune-up), and it exhibits no problems at all. I replaced the motherboard in May because of the dreaded frayed power tip from the original power adapter that fried the chip that recharges the battery (write me off-line for the TIPS info), and it's been absolutely golden ever since (and yes, upon the first breeze-through with MacCheck 1.0, no problems).
I haven't had any freezes, crashes, burns, etc., so with this ancient diagnostic software, should I just ignore it? Or should I ask the Swaplist or eBay for a copy of (old) TechTool Pro to sniff out the PowerBook again? TIA....
