I just found the low end mac site and this group after I dug out the 5300cs
that I had gotten at a garage sale for cheap and wanted to know if there was
anything I could do to upgrade it. From what I've been able to gather, there
really isn't much I can do to it other than a larger HD and more memory, is
that correct?

Beyond that there is the elusive Zip drive module (which goes into the floppy drive bay), you can add 802.11b wireless PCMCIA cards (I'm using an Orinoco Wavelan Silver in mine), and this upgrade <http://www.datamem.com/viewitems.asp?C=1048&K=&IT_KEY=1430&action=open&x=#F444%201577> replaces the internal video board to give you greater resolution/more colors on external monitors as well as a 10-base-T ethernet port built-in, so you don't have to use a PCMCIA card one.

That last is a worthwhile upgrade imo, expecially since it's only eight bucks.
