Thanks for the helpful pointers. I got it stripped down to where I can see the serial port attached to the motherboard, but now what? I could go ahead and try to remove the motherboard, but I am not sure I know what to do with it once I do. Can I solder in a serial port connector without damaging the motherboard? Where do I get one?
I am thinking that before I take that risk perhaps I should try spraying some contact cleaning solution into the serial port connector, reassembling the pb and see if that helps. = Stuart = Stuart E.
