probably very off-topic, but I have this wild hair where it doesn't belong, thought maybe someone here might have heard this same strange tale as me.
I seem to recall reading/ hearing/ seeing something about a do-it-yourself RAID disk made of several hard drives linked together.
I can't find the article in any of my old macaddicts, but it seems like you can make yourself a very suitable RAID array by linking them together somehow. I have 9 or 10 old hard drives from powermac 7500 era vintage, and have three old 7500s, plus an 8500, so I can get several power supplies, I have lots of SCSI ribbon cable, and a bit of mechanical knowledge, and I'd like to try to put this together, if for no other reason than to see it work.
Has anybody else done this before?
Sid
